Salt Lake Mahjong Club

Salt Lake Mahjong Club is bringing the wildly popular game of American Mahjong to Utahns, one gorgeous table, one shared laugh, and one unforgettable night at a time.

We’re part game night, part girls’ night, part community movement. Here, connection comes first. Tiles come second.

With beginner classes, open play nights, private group events, and a monthly mocktail series, we make Mahjong warm, welcoming, wonderfully easy to learn, and totally Utah.

Meet the Founder, Katie Poulsen

Katie Poulsen is a Utah mom, dental hygienist, marketer, and serial community-builder who fell in love with Mahjong during a season when she needed connection most. What began as a few friends around a table quickly grew into a local movement, and ultimately the Salt Lake Mahjong Club.

With a background in marketing and a passion for bringing women together, Katie created SLMC with one goal: make Mahjong feel beautiful, social, approachable, and joy-filled for every person who sits down to play.

Today, hundreds of Utahns have already joined classes, events, and private gatherings, and the movement is only growing.
